Take your place in the next generation of nuclear experts with a fully-funded Centre for Doctoral Training (CDT) PhD or EngD in Skills And Training Underpinning a Renaissance in Nuclear (SATURN).

This collaborative CDT funded by the UK EPSRC involves the Universities of Manchester, Lancaster, Leeds, Liverpool, Sheffield, Strathclyde and Bangor, who all work towards building the skills base needed to support the UK’s net zero targets.

We work directly with industry to ensure that the research our students conduct directly meets their needs in delivering for UK nuclear across civil and defence. Our students come from a huge range of backgrounds, gain meaningful experience and expertise in the nuclear sector and overwhelmingly go on to join the industry..
